Check-in volunteers will check athlete IDs and handout race packets. You will also answer questions of participants might have.

Transition Captain High Priority

Details

Transition Captain is in charge of overall transition team & area to make sure the area is secure. This volunteer will provide on site training to the other members of the transition team. They will make sure each child has a helmet correctly ON and BUCKLED before heading onto bike portion of race.

Transition Area High Priority

Details

Transition volunteers will make sure the transition area (swim to bike, and bike to run) stays clear of spectators. Transition volunteers also need to instruct participants in the right direction when leaving the transition chute.

Body Marking High Priority

June 8, 2019

Details

Body marking staff will write the participants bib number clearly and legibly on the backside of the participant’s upper arm and calf before the start of the race.

Timing Chip High Priority

Details

After checking in participants will receive a chip timer from the volunteers at this station. Volunteers will hand out chip timers that correspond to the athlete’s bib number.

Floater High Priority

Cooling Station/ Sunscreen High Priority

Details

Volunteers will assist kids with sunscreen and cooling off throughout the morning.

Aid Station Captain High Priority

June 8, 2019

Details

Aid Station Captain is in charge of the aid stations overall. They will help with set up and make sure enough volunteers are at each station. This captain will give onsite instructions to the aid station team prior to the event and monitor aid stations during the race to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Aid Station High Priority

Details

Volunteers will fill cups prior to the start of the race. They need to ensure there is always enough water and sport drinks are readily available at your station for participants as they pass. Volunteers will hand out drinks in a safe and professional manner to minimize the disruption of the racers. Volunteers also need to make sure the area by aid station is free of disposed cups, bottles, etc.

Bike Course Captain High Priority

Details

Make sure that all the bike course marshalls are in place to guide the kids along the way.  Make sure the bike course is well marked and ready for the race. Provide emergency directions to team members in case of an accident. Monitor the bike course throughout the race and make necessary changes to where team members are positioned.

Course Marshall-Bike High Priority

Course Marshalls- Bike are to ensure safety of participants along the bike course. Volunteers are to cheer on athletes while making sure the course stays clear of spectators and other obstructions. Some Land Course Marshalls will be stationed at corners and turns to direct athletes in proper direction.

Run Course Captain High Priority

Run Course Captain will make sure that all the Run Course Marshalls are in place and ready to direct the runners on the course. Make sure the run course is well marked for the racers. This volunteer will also help with on site training for those on your team.

Course Marshall- Run High Priority

Course Marshalls- Run are to ensure safety of participants along the run course. Volunteers are to cheer on athletes while making sure the course stays clear of spectators and other obstructions. Swim Captain High Priority

Details

Make sure that all the swim help are in position and the swim course is ready for the race. Give on site training to the swim helpers as needed.

Swim Course Marshall High Priority

June 8, 2019

Details

Volunteers will make sure children have their goggles on and are ready to go at the start of the race. During the race volunteers will cheer on the participants. They are also responsible for controlling the flow of traffic in and out of the pool and manning the doors out into transition area.

Food Tent Captain High Priority

This volunteer is in charge of the food and drink areas which include the volunteer food tent and the athlete's tent. The position includes on site training for the others on the food tent team and monitoring the food / drink areas during the race.

Food Tent High Priority

Volunteers will set up food tent and ensure there is always enough food available.

Finish Line High Priority

Details

Volunteers will cheer and support participants as they approach the finish line. They will also help distribute medals to finishers and collect timing chips (if applicable).

Clean Up Crew High Priority

Details

Crew will take down equipment used during the race. This can include, bike racks, fencing, tents, course markers, etc.
