Race Day Giveaways Medium Priority

Details

Make sure to check in at the volunteer table upon arrival. Volunteers will be responsible for handing out race giveaways to participants. If it is a sized item, the participant will be given the size they requested/ordered when they registered. You will pull the giveaway tab on the participants BIB once he or she has received their giveaway (if needed). Participants will be able to switch out their sized item ONLY until after the race has completed. Any issues should be referred to the volunteer coordinator or race director.

Food & Refreshments Medium Priority

Details

Make sure to check in at the volunteer table upon arrival. Volunteers will be responsible for setting up, replenishing, and cleaning up the pre/post-race food and refreshments. This includes any sponsorship drinks or food.

Pre-Race Venue Set Up High Priority

Details

You will check in with the Volunteer Coordinator either at Start Line or Finish Line and be assigned set up duties as needed. Volunteers will assist and help set up the start line prior to the event.

Post-Race Venue Breakdown High Priority

Details

After the race is completed, Volunteers will be tasked to help break down the race venue and bring any materials over to the box truck at the discretion of the equipment manager. Please check in with a NOTC staff member or at the volunteer/registration table.

Water Stations

Water Station #1 - Start Line Medium Priority

Details

Make sure to check in at the volunteer/registration tent upon arrival. Volunteers will be responsible for filling up cups of water and or gatorade, placing them on the table prior to the race for participants at the start line. After the race starts, this water stop will turn into a course water station which is located at mile 1.45. Once the last participant is served, the water station will need to be broken down and all trash, cups, extra product, tables, etc. will need to be cleaned up. Please place all materials in a pile for the course team to pick up. The course marshall who will be dropping off, monitoring the course, and cleaning up the water station will explain & answer any questions you may have. Please monitor the trash as it can build up quickly.

Water Station #2 - Finish Line Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers will report directly to the Finish Festival Area at Governor Nicholls Park. The water stop will located on the backside of the finish line. May need to lift up to 5-gallon jugs of water. Volunteers will be filling up cups of water and gatorade for the finishers and handing them to the finishers once crossing the finish line until the last race participant finishes. Afterwards, the water stop will need to be broke down and the area cleaned up by baging all trash and placing in a pile for removal.

Course Pointers Medium Priority

Details

Make sure to check in at the volunteer table upon arrival.
Volunteers will be pre-positioned along the race course and responsible for making sure runners go the correct way, all roads remain closed, and monitoring the course for pedestrian traffic. Make sure to check in at the volunteer table upon arrival to find out where your task position will be located and to receive a yellow safety vest. Please return the vest before leaving the event.

Details

Assisting at Early Packet Pickup by handing out t-shirts, race bibs, checking in participants, and goodie bags at a set location.
