Volunteers in this position will "body mark" athletes by writing their race number and age in the correct places on the athlete's left bicep and left calf. Permanent markers and additional instructions will be provided on race day.

*We recommend bringing sunglasses, a hat, comfortable shoes, and sunscreen.

Details

Volunteers in this position will each be stationed at one of the four corners of the Transition Area to direct athletes out the correct chutes (bike out, bike in, and run out). Volunteers will also help provide security and should be making sure that only athletes are in the Transition Area and that their race numbers match up.

*We recommend bringing sunglasses, a hat, comfortable shoes, and sunscreen.
*You may bring a lawn chair to sit in while working this position.

Volunteers in this position will stand in knee to waist-deep water and assist athletes in standing up and exiting the water at the end of the swim portion of the race. Lifeguards and medical staff will also be on-site to assist with any injuries.

*Must be comfortable getting wet.
*We recommend bringing sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, towel, and dry change of clothes (water shoes optional).
*If able, please consider signing up for more than one volunteer shift.

Bike-In

Details

Volunteers in this position will stand along Lake Street (out of the way), about 50 ft ahead of where the racers will be coming in on their bikes and getting ready to turn into the Transition Area. Volunteers will yell to the racers to "gear down" or "slow down" or "get ready to dismount", in preparation for the sharp right turn into the Transition Area.

*Volunteers must be comfortable being loud and must be very attentive.
*We recommend bringing sunglasses, a hat, comfortable shoes, and sunscreen.

Volunteers in this position will be responsible for keeping the sidewalk that the racers take for the run portion of the race clear from bikers, spectators, etc.

Finish Line

Volunteers in this position will cheer and congratulate athletes as they cross the finish line, then collect their race chip from them. They will also hand out medals to all finishers.

*Race chips cost $30/chip so volunteers must be diligent in getting the race chip back from each racer that comes across the finish line.
*We recommend bringing sunglasses, a hat, comfortable shoes, and sunscreen.
