Aid Station #1

Details

Aid station #1 is located on Washington Blvd just north of Town St (behind COSI) and is great for groups!

Aid station volunteer duties may include:

-Filling water cups
-Cheering and encouraging runners
-Handing out water cups to passing runners
-Cleaning up and breaking down the area after the last participants and course sweepers pass by

This position may require some moderate lifting up to 40 lbs, and you will likely get a bit wet so wear old shoes and clothing that can take a little bit of water.

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beer ticket (for those 21 and over) for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival.

Route assistants

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Route assistants help by keeping runners on course and safe. Police officers should be on hand at each intersection to manage traffic but are not responsible for participant route instruction. Route assistants will assist at key points in making sure runners stay on the course and take all proper turns.

Route assistant volunteer duties include:
- A proper understanding of the course (all route assistants will be provided with a course map, and a detailed duty assignment for their specific area)
- Working with present law enforcement to keep runners safe from vehicular traffic
- Wear bright comfortable clothing

Specific start/end times may vary slightly based on location along the race route, but will not exceed the times listed here.

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races and a beer ticket (for those 21 and over) for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival. Route assistants should check in with the Volunteer Coordinator at the race site to receive their beer ticket.

Beer Garden

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Beer garden volunteers will be stationed in the post-event area on the west lawn of North Bank Park. Duties may include:

- Verifying ID
- Taking cash/credit card payments
- Pouring beer into cups
- Helping to maintain a clean and efficient area

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races after the race. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beer ticket (for those 21 and over) for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival.

Race Day Check-In Assistance

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Check-In volunteer duties may include:
- Providing runners with their race packets (race number, t-shirt, race bag)
- Using race-provided hardware to check-in pre-registered participants
- Answering of basic race-related questions

**Please note that Race Day Check-In Assistance volunteers are expected to fill their complete shift and are not able to also participate in the in-person race.**

This position may require some light lifting up to 30 lbs.

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races after the race. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beer ticket (for those 21 and over) for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival.

Finish Line Area

You must be 12 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Be the first to greet our 10K participants as they cross the finish line!

Finish line area volunteer duties may include:
- Medal distribution - unwrapping medals, organizing on tables, and rewarding participants for their accomplishment!
- Water distribution - helping tired participants stay hydrated after they finish
- Results assistance - helping the results team prepare quickly for post-race awards by utilizing tested back-up timing techniques. Good penmanship is a plus, and excellent focus and listening skills are key.

This position may require some light lifting up to 30 lbs.

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races after the race. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beer ticket (for those 21 and over) for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival.

Gear Check

Gear Check volunteers will help participants by keeping their gear safe, collecting items in approved bags and then distributing them back to participants after they finish. Volunteers in this area should be comfortable on their feet and be upbeat and encouraging to all!

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races after the race. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beer ticket (for those 21 and over) for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival.

VIP Tent

VIP Tent volunteers will assist our VIP Tent Area Lead in making sure that all members of the QuickStitch Plus VIP Tent are looked after and have everything they need. Volunteers in this area should be comfortable on their feet and be upbeat and encouraging to all!

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races after the race. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beer ticket (for those 21 and over) for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival.

Event day tear down

Event day teardown volunteer duties may include:
- Making sure all race-related trash is in provided containers
- Breaking down the finish line and vendor areas, moving tables/chairs/etc to proper vehicles/areas as directed by race staff
- Returning North Bank Park to its initial condition

This position may require some lifting up to 40 lbs.

Age Group Award Distribution

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Age Group Award Distribution volunteers will help participants look up their results, verify any age group winners, and help distribute awards on event day. Volunteers in this area should be comfortable with light mobile app usage on their personal devices and be upbeat and encouraging to all!
