This volunteer role is at a busy crossroads for participants which they pass multiple times. This volunteer role combines aid station duties with course monitor duties to ensure that participants go the right direction during the event.
The water station is located at the trail crossroads location not too far from the start/finish area. You'll need to set up the water station tables, jugs, etc prior to 7:00am.
Your help making sure that participants go the correct direction is important here so that they accurately complete the 10K course.
As the race begins, participants make a left turn at this station and head north along the trail passing by the aid station. They will then return (travelling south) making a slight left turn at the aid station to continue south along the Greenway trail.
When the participants return from the south loop, they'll be heading north along the trail. They can again stop at the water station before continuing north along the trail to complete the north loop a second time.
Once they've done the north loop twice, they come back to the aid station but need to turn right to get back to the finish line for the event.
Please be sure to be at your station before the 8:30 am event start to set up the water station.
When the event concludes (we'll have a sweep bike rider check the course), please empty out the water jugs and consolidate trash (cups) into one bag if possible. Other volunteers will pick up these materials after the event.
You'll have chairs, water/snacks, yellow ORRC safety vests, tables, water jugs, pitchers, cups, and trash cans. If weather is hot we will likely have a tent cover there. Please bring appropriate clothing for expected weather.
