Work at the direction of the race director to coordinate all volunteer activities for the race. Duties include ensuring that key volunteer positions are filled in advance of the race and on race day and that volunteers have the guidance and resources they need to fulfill their duties.

This assignment is outdoors. You need to be prepared for the weather on race day.

Course Marshal

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

Directing runners and keeping them safe along the route are the key responsibilities. Duties include a proper understanding of the course and being able to stop pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic while runners cross. Being confident and being loud (if necessary) are pluses.

You also are a key player in keeping the excitement and momentum going on course. Feel free to act crazy, scream, cheer, laugh — anything to bring out a smile on our runners faces!

MUST WEAR A SAFETY VEST (provided by RRRC at check-in)! Standing for long periods of time is required.

This position requires attendance for the duration of the event. Grand Prix points will not be awarded and volunteer verification sheets will not be signed should you leave your post early.

You also are a key player in cheering on and putting a smile on our runners faces!

This assignment is outdoors and standing for long periods of time is required. Please dress appropriately based upon the weather at event time. Consider bringing your own hydration, snacks and sun screen.

Water Stop Coordinator

This position is responsible for guiding & assisting other water stop volunteers in setting up and filling cups, distributing water to runners while cheering them on, picking up discarded cups and cleaning up area after all participants have passed.

This position requires attendance for the duration of the event. Grand Prix points will not be awarded and volunteer verification sheets will not be signed should you leave your post early.

You also are a key player in cheering on and putting a smile on our runners faces!

Finish Line

This position is stationed at the event finish line and duties are at the direction of the race director and timer. Assist with timing (manual and/or digital) and set-up/break-down of finish line equipment. Some lifting is required.

You also have a key role in cheering on our runners as they finish their race!

Duties include setting up/breaking down the post-race food station, cutting bananas and bagels if they are available, distributing food to event participants upon completion of the race, and making sure that spectators are not partaking in the post race food.

Assists the driver of the RRRC truck in setting up and taking down the event, from the start/finish line to the cones and water stations along the course.

General Volunteer

Assignments may include Course Marshal, Water Station, Finish Line, Registration, Food or general set-up or breakdown.

All assignments are outdoors. You need to be prepared for the weather on race day. This position is not appropriate for a volunteer with children under the age of 15 or pets, who need supervision and bringing them is prohibited.

Once you are able to check in at registration, you’ll be directed to a specific assignment that needs your attention.

You may receive an email a few days in advance of the event with additional assignment details, but depending upon event needs, you may not receive your assignment until you are at the event.
