FREEBIRD RAMBLE Skimo Race and Relay - Hosted by Rambleraven Gear Trader

Join us for the second annual FREEBIRD RAMBLE skimo race and relay.

Hosted by Rambleraven Gear Trader and 49° North Mountain Resort.

Participants will begin at the main lodge and skin to the summit where they will transition to downhill mode and ski down to the finish line. Multi lap and relay participants will then traverse through the transition area before beginning their subsequent lap(s).

Route Details:

• The uphill route starts at the main lodge and follows Portal to Silver Ridge to the Summit.
• Uphill stats: 2.3 miles long with a vertical gain of 1860ft
• Downhill route: Racer’s choice back to the lodge

Event Timeline:

• 8:00am – Registration and Transition area access begins
• 8:30am – Demo area opens
• 8:45am – Prerace meeting and announcements
• 9:00am – Mass start
• 2:00pm – Last opportunity to take out demos
• 2:30pm – Last lap cut off for 6 hour competitors
• 3:30pm – Course sweep, all competitors must be off the course
• 4:00pm – Awards ceremony 

Race Considerations:

• Multi-lap participants will begin with a mass start at 9:00am
• Single lap participants can join the mass start or begin their lap at any time between 9:00am and 2:30pm
• Same day registration (For the race, NOT just demoing skis) is only available for single lap participants
• This event is self-supported. Participants are encouraged to carry their own hydration/nutrition on the course. There will be a secure, fenced off transition area for multi-lap participants to store their gear and set up a chair for rest stops between laps 
• There will be three timing gates: One at the start of the race, a second at the exit of the transition area at the summit, and a third at the finish line
• Access to the mountain is included in your registration fees. If you choose to ride chair lifts after you've completed the race there will be an additional fee at the ticket office
• Helmets will be required for all racers

Equipment Demos:

• The ski and boot demo portion of our event is free – that’s right, free! You can register for the demo at any point between 8:30am and 2:00pm, when the demo starts and ends
• Our Fleet includes: Elan, Black Diamond, Voile, Weston, Roxa, Altai

Other Considerations:

• Concessions and restrooms will be available in the lodge
• Packet Pickup and transition area setup will begin at 8:00 am on race day. We may host an early packet pickup at Rambleraven Gear Trader in Spokane, details TBD 
• We will be sending out email updates as we get closer to race day
• Age, gender, and equipment specific categories, as well as prizes, will be determined based on the number of participants
• The captain sets up the team and pays the entire entry fee. Then your teammates register by filling out the contact information and signing the waiver. On the screen after the waiver the system will ask if they are registering a new team or joining an existing team. That's where they will enter the team name you agreed upon. Make sure they understand the team name needs to be entered EXACTLY as you entered it
