The 2016 Lampson Cable Bridge Run was one of the coldest on record (We hadn't seen cold like this since the 2008 run), but for the nearly 1000 people who braved the cold and participated in the event it was a fun and memorable time! Description

A fun and exciting holiday tradition! The Lampson Cable Bridge Run has been an annual tradition in the Tri-CIties for 39 years. Runners, no matter the distance they choose (1Mile, 5K, or 10K) will start their race crossing over the Columbia River from Kennewick to Pasco, WA on the scenic Cable Bridge and all racers will end at the Lampson warehouse and warm up with Hot Doctor Pepper and enjoy the camaraderie of other participants.

Timing chips are used and awards are given to the top participants in each age category. So if you are a competitive runner or someone who just wants to have fun walking with your friends, the Lampson Cable Bridge Run has what you are looking for.

Important Race information
Lampson Cable Bridge Run:

The 39th Annual Lampson Cable Bridge Run will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017.  All three races will be started by Santa himself at 9:00 am sharp.  There are three registration periods for the Lampson Cable Bridge Run, Early Bird (August 1 - November 29), Regular Registration (November 30 - December 13), and Last Chance (December 14 - 7pm on December 15). On race day don't forget to show up early at the Benton County Fairgrounds parking lot to catch the shuttle!

Please Note: • There will NOT be shuttles transporting participants back to the starting line after the race. • If you have someone picking you up at the finish (2300 East Crane St.), they need to arrive at the building no later than 8:15 am and will not be able to leave until the 5K/10K race course is clear (approx. 10:30 am).   
 
Lampson CBR Race Results will be posted as soon as they are uploaded on Saturday, December 16 after the race.

PACKET PICK-UP
Location

Neil F. Lampson Office Building, 607 E. Columbia Dr. in Kennewick. (Please be aware that this is the same location as the start of the race)

Pre-Race Packet Pick-up

Friday, December 15 from 12-7 pm  (While you are there, check out some new products and upcoming events at the Lampson Cable Bridge Run Trade Show)

Race Day Packet Pick-up

Saturday, December 16 from 7-8:30 am

*Note: Race packets contain the race bib and timing chip specifically assigned to you.

PARKING AND SHUTTLES

*NOTE: THERE IS NO PARKING AT THE RACE START AREA! 

We are offering parking at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick (1500 S. Oak St., Kennewick, WA) and BenFranklin Transit busses will shuttle participants to the start of the race. Shuttles to the Starting Line begin at 7:00 am from Benton County Fairgrounds. The last shuttle leaves at 8:15 am.

Shuttles will transport the 1 Mile participants to the main 5K/10K finish line.

After the race, at the 5K/10K finish line, shuttles will then return participants to the Benton County Fairgrounds. 

Shuttles back to the Benton County Fairgrounds from the 5K/10K finish will begin at 10:00am.  The last shuttle leaves at 11:30 am.

RACE DIVISIONS

Each race distance (1 Mile, 5K & 10K) contains the following race divisions:

  •  - 12 years & under
  •  - 13-19 years
  •  - 20-29 years
  •  - 30-39 years
  •  - 40-49 years
  •  - 50-59 years
  •  - 60-69 years
  •  - 70-79 years
  •  - 80 years & older
  •  - Wheelchair
SHIRTS

*Participants will have the choice of purchasing either a cotton/poly long-sleeved t-shirt ($5) OR a technical t-shirt ($7) with their registration.

 

Adult Beverages will be provided by the Pasco Jaycees. If you wish to purchase alcohol after the race, you must provide an acceptable form of ID (cash and credit/debit cards accepted).  All proceeds from adult beverage sales go to the Pasco Jaycees. 

Pasco Jaycees are a community service and personal development organization for men and women ages 18 and older. But more than that, they are a group of young men and women who care about their community, and seek to make worthwhile friendships, while making a difference in the lives of those around them.

CHIP TIMING

Chip timing will be used by all runners. Timing chips are personally assigned to each runner and will be included in the race packets. Timing chips are to be worn during the race (preferably on the shoe). Timing chip must be returned at the end of your race to avoid a $25.00 replacement fee. Return bins will be located immediately beyond each finish line.  Do NOT run through more than one finish line or your time will be invalid.
