|SNOQUALMIE TUNNEL 5k||
Time10:45AM PDT - 12:00PM PDT
The race is SOLD OUT.
To ensure the safety of our participants we have to cap the number of people who enter the tunnel. Each year we increase the number and make slight adjustments to the race schedule to ensure we can safely handle the crowd.
Saturday July 21st
All-ages, glow in the dark, 5k (walk or run) through the historic Snoqualmie tunnel. Afraid of the dark? Have no fear, everyone will be outfitted with glow gear. Following the race head to Dru Bru for an outdoor, all-ages, block party. We’ll have food, games and of course beer!
GLOW GEAR INCLUDES:
1 Race T-Shirt
1 LED Flashlight
Glow Gear (bracelets & necklace)
Feel free to bring your own. The brighter the better! You will pick up your race T-Shirt and Glow Gear the day of the event. Please note, we order the race shirts 2 weeks in advance of the race therefore sign-ups post July 8th are not guaranteed a race T-Shirt.
Sign-In / Registration from 9:30am-10:30am
Race starts at 10:45am
The race is a loop. You will start and end at the Iron Horse State Park - Hyak Trailhead parking lot. The course is pretty flat. You will start ~.5 mile outside the tunnel, run one mile in, turn around, and run one mile out and back to the start. The turnaround will be illuminated, plus we'll have volunteers directing traffic.
There will be parking available at the Hyak Trailhead entrance. All vehicles entering the state park must have a Discover Pass. These are sold onsite (and can be purchased the day of) or online (http://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/). We encourage carpooling.
Be prepared for extreme darkness and cold temperatures. For this event glow sticks, lanterns and glow wearables will illuminate the path. Also, each runner will be provided a LED flashlight to use at their discretion. The tunnel is cold, so we encourage you to wear a long sleeve shirt or light jacket. The ground is made of compacted gravel.
To ensure the safety of our runners and walkers we're keeping this a bike-free event. Strollers and/or other child transportation vehicles are allowed. Since it's a public park we are required to keep the tunnel open to the public therefore bikes may be present but will not be participating in the event.
This a kid friendly event. Children 4 and under are free (but don’t receive an event t-shirt)
Unfortunately animals are not allowed at this event due to the number of participants and event conditions.
