Description
Help Porter fundraise for UNICEF! For my first 50 miler, I am choosing to help me finish this thing by fundraising for UNICEF USA.
Ever since becoming a father, seeing the suffering of any child has made me feel incredibly sad and overwhelmed with compassion for that child and a desire to do something to improve their situation in some way. Children are so often those who lose the most when the grownups cannot figure things out. I still remember seeing the image of 3 year old Alan Kurdi, washed up on the beach in Turkey and being unable to picture my own child dead.
When I think about this, hopefully it will make it 'easy' to make it through 50 miles in the heat of Wenatchee. My goal is to raise $5,000. I'll be contributing $500, so I'm asking you, the Orca Running & Evergreen Trail Runs community, to help me get the remaining $4,500. Thank you.
