The 5K begins at Wilmot Park heading west toward Bothell on the wide paved Sammamish Trail, crosses a footbridge, taking a sharp right turn 1.3 miles onto the North Creek Trail joining this scenic path along a creek in the woods. The turn-around at UW Bothell campus tennis courts reverses the route for return to the start/finish line.
The 10K course begins mirroring the start of the 5k, then passes the 5k turn-around and continues on the North Creek Trail to mile 2.2 (slightly uphill) for a turnaround. Returns to the join the Sammamish River Trail, taking a right (footbridge on the left) and yes up a sharp little incline toward Bothell. Turn-around is at the gravel parking lot on left before Bothell Landing (mile 4) for a fast return to Wilmot Park finish line.
