Love Wine?  Like Walking or Running?  This race is for you! 

Race Swag: All participants will receive a race t-shirt, souvenir wine glass, finisher medal and a free glass of wine (or soda for our under 21 runners) after the race!

Join us on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 for an exciting event that features the scenic views of Hawk's Mill Winery, and the great Wine produced by locally owned by Hawk's Mill Winery.  With registration options for all wine lovers and runners, this race is a sure thing for a great time!

Awards:  We are doing finisher medals for all participants so there are no age group medals, however we will have a race clock as you cross the finish line if you want to see your results.   This race will not be chip timed.

This race benefits local charities.  We will have music and light refreshments for all runners and walkers.

FAQ's

Is the race only for 21+? No, minors are welcome to participate, but they will get a free soda instead of wine.
Is walking allowed?  Yes, absolutely! Are strollers allowed? Yes
Is the race dog friendly? Yes, but please make sure you dog is on a leash. 
Wine's cool, but I prefer Beer!  That's not a question... but if we get enough requests we will absolutely add a beer option!! I still have questions, who do I contact?  If you have a question, someone else probably does too.  Email us at events@winerun5k.com and we'll add it to this page

Race Swag:  All participants will receive a race t-shirt, race bib, drink ticket for a pour of 5 oz wine, a souvenir wine glass, and a finisher medal!!! *Our race t-shirt is purple this year; however, with COVID supplier issues it could come in black or another possible color depending on vendor supply availability*

Course Map

Our course map is pictured below.  The race starts and finishes at Hawk's Mill Winery and the course is an out and back course.  Runners will be on the county roads for the duration of the race which is paved and we will run by the state nature areas which will give runners a scenic beautiful view.  When runners cross the finish line they will be treated with a souvenir wine glass and their pour of wine!!!  Runners will have a tear-off ticket on the bottom of their race bib that they can redeem for their glass and pour of wine at the finish line.

Joan M. Kamholz is a retired Deputy Sheriff from Dane County Sheriff's Office, Madison, WI.

She is the founder and president of "Justice For A Cure", a law enforcement program that she describes as "The law enforcement family doing their part to SERVE and PROTECT, in the fight against cancer".

Justic For A Cure is an awareness and fundraising program that benefits local cancer support programs, and supports cancer research, such as:

What began in the Dane County Sheriff's Office is quickly growing in the state of Wisconsin and across the U.S..

Her commitment and passion is endless in an effort to reach out to help those going through the cancer journey, and to encourage more law enforcement participation and the benefits of their participation.

She has served on several Susan G. Komen for a Cure committees, has received several honors such as the Ann Haney Award in 2013. In May 2011, she was selected as the Honorary Bat Girl for Major League Baseball-Milwaukee Brewers for Susan G. Komen. She has also assisted Breast Cancer Recovery as a facilitator at Infinite Boundaries Retreat, and was instrumental in establishing the first Celebration of Survivorship reunion with BCR retreat participants in 2016.
