It's the cheesiest race you'll ever run!
Join us in Kenosha for the 12th running of the Wisconsin Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5k. You'll enjoy a great course that runs right along Lake Michigan and starts and finishes near the downtown Kenosha area. Finish your race with a Big Cheese Medal draped around your neck and cheese in hand.
Note for 2021: For safety reasons related to the pandemic, we will only be offering a half marathon and 5k distance in 2021. A virtual race option will also be available, for those that wish to race from home. See our website for details.
If you have any questions about this race, click the button below.
Packet Pick-up will be available in the Milwaukee area, Chicagoland, Kenosha, and on race morning. Exact dates, times, and locations will be announced very soon. Packet mailing is also available for an additional fee and must be ordered by April 15th. (No extra fees for the virtual race. The mailing is included with your race fee for the Virtual Race only.)
Courses for the half marathon and 5k will be slightly changed for 2021 to help us comply with safety measures and so that runners with earlier and later start times don't run into each other. Same basic courses as in the past, with a few changes. Course maps will be posted after final measurements have been taken. Course time limit is 3.5 hours from the time the last wave is released.
Start Times: We will have a rolling wave start this year. Runners will select their Start Cluster Time at registration. We have clusters set for every 3 minutes that will allow 60 people per wave. Please do not arrive to the start area until no more than 10 minutes before your chosen Start Cluster Time. Once you enter the starting corral, you can make your way to the start line and your timing chip will activate when you cross the start mat.
Swag: All participants will receive a short sleeve, tech shirt. We have unisex and women's cuts available. Sizes may be limited, so register early.
Volunteers Needed! Especially this year, we are in great need of volunteers for race morning, especially serving as course marshals. If you know someone that is available to help, email Jonathan at email@example.com. Special benefits available for groups or charities.
Post race: After the race, we will be providing To-Go Bags at the finish line with all your post race snack options. (And yes, we will have cheese!) There will be no brats or beer this year to comply with health and safety measures.
Medals: All half marathon participants will receive our Big Cheese Finisher Medal. All 5k participants will receive a 5k Runner Ribbon. Awards for top three runners will be mailed out after race day. Due to the wave starts, we will not have an awards ceremony. Top three overall male and female for each distance will be determined by chip time.
Parking: Street parking is available throughout downtown Kenosha. Most parking is about a 10 minute walk to the start line. There is no parking on the race course. There is no parking in the lots of the Kenosha Public or Civil War Museums.
Lodging: We have a block of rooms available at The Stella Hotel in downtown Kenosha, 5706 8th Street. You can book a room in our block by calling 262-842-2000 or by using their website, www.stellahotel.com, and using the code WISMAR. Limited rooms are available in this block and must be booked by 3/30/21. Additional lodging in the area can be found at www.visitkenosha.com.
