Come be a part of Martinsburg’s annual fall race!

Join us for the annual Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5K as part of the Apple Harvest Festival activities!  It's a fun morning of running and walking with family, friends and even your beloved four-legged friends can join in the fun.  

Proceeds raised support the WVU Hospital East Foundation's Cancer Comfort Fund helping provide emergency assistance to cancer patients locally. 

About The Apple Trample 5K

REGISTRATION & RACE START LOCATION:  WVU Dorothy A. McCormack Center  (2000 Foundation Way, Martinsburg, WV 25401)
FINISH LINE: Cobourn Field at Martinsburg High School (701 S. Queen St., Martinsburg, WV 25401)

THE COURSE 
Explore the streets of downtown Martinsburg with a course that starts just outside the Dorothy A. McCormack Center on Berkeley Medical Center's campus, winding through the sites and sounds of downtown Martinsburg and crossing the finish line on the track at Coubourn Field!

POST-RACE CELEBRATION
At the finish line you will enjoy a post-race party and awards ceremony featuring local apples and other goodies.  Awards for the top 1 overall runners and the top 3 runners of each 5 year age group will be given out immediately following the completion of the race.  After the awards ceremony stick around and check out the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival Parade.  

RACE- DAY SHUTTLE SERVICE
Shuttle service provided by Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority (EPTA) will be running between 11:00am through 12:30pm taking participants from the finish celebration area back to Berkeley Medical Center's campus. The shuttle will be making a stop near the Apple Harvest Festival Parade route if participants are parked near that area. We want to thank EPTA for their in-kind support of the Apple Trample 5K for use of their services.

Overall Top 1 Man and Woman *overall winners will be excluded from age group awards
Age Groups 1st and 2nd place Men and Women 
10 and under, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 66-70, 71+ 

TIMING 
All runners and walkers will be timed, with walkers having one hour to complete the course. 

REGISTRATION 
Early Registration Fee by Oct 5th
$35 with a t-shirt

$45 with no guarantee of a t-shirt

RACE DAY REGISTRATION
Register at McCormack Center Pavilion 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM or online until 30 minutes before the race.

PACKET PICK-UP 
Packet pickup will only take place on Race Day Morning at McCormack Center Pavilion 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Race Route - 5K

The Apple Trample route follows historic city streets along the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival Parade Route.

  • The Apple Trample will start at the intersection of N. Tennessee Avenue and Hospital Drive.  
  • The course then follows Tennessee Ave to King St.  
  • Take a left on King St.  (There will be a water station on the left just past the railroad tracks in front of Depot Florist)
  • Participants will make a left turn onto Raleigh St. then take a right onto Martin St.  
  • They will then take a right onto Queen St. and continue through downtown past Boydville to Martinsburg High School.  
  • Participants will turn right onto Bulldog Blvd, making their way up the hill and take a left turn to enter the track. Make a right turn onto the track and follow around to the finish line! 

Refreshments will be provided for participants by local area merchants and located just past the finish line. 

Thanks to Martinsburg Police Department for their generosity in providing direction, blocking traffic for this special event.

Q:  Are strollers allowed on this Course

A:  Yes, strollers are allowed and encouraged.  Please be sure to line up in the back at race start.
