Thank you for joining us for the 2nd Annual 5k Run Walk Roll and our Inaugural 10k Challenge Run at the base of the beautiful Whetstone Mountains - 714 S. J6 Ranch Road, Benson, Arizona
We are one of few live running events happening in the area for the rest of 2020. Join our serious efforts in making this an event where ALL do their part to not spread any illnesses! Please do not jeopardize the opportunity for in-person racing during these challenging times.

If you do not feel well in any way, please do not come to the race. Unfortunately, we do not have a virtual component, but please defer to the 2021 race and be amongst the first 15 that register earning extra raffle chances for that event!

RECOGNITION, AWARDS, AND PRIZES
OVERALL WINNERS - Due to quick-streaming of times, Male and Female Winners in lst, 2nd, and 3rd Place for each race will be called to the Staging Area within 10 minutes of crossing the Finish Line to pick-up product prizes, gift certificates, or cash prizes from safely spaced tables.
AGE CATEGORIES - Male and Female Winners in the following Age Categories will be mailed a Certificate and fun token gift: 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & Over. Overall male and female winners will be removed from age group awards.
TEAM AWARDS - minimum of 3 members 5k and 10k Fastest Teams - average of top three members' times Largest Team - most members at event regardless of division
AMBASSADORS ACROSS THE AGES - mailed refund of 2020 Race Fees and Complimentary Registration for 2021. Youngest and Oldest registered Male and Female for demonstrating that "Keepin' Movin' across the ages is instrumental in staying happy, healthy, and energized. It is about more than speed....it is the mantra for life."
RAFFLE PRIZES - GENERAL RAFFLE winners will be announced at the race and prizes collected at the staging area. Children 10 and under must have adult present when claiming prize. MEGA RAFFLE - winner need not be present to win - will be contracted and arrangements made for delivery
EVENT INSTRUCTIONS AND VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS - A MUST READ!
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING - both courses are nestled in the rolling foothills of the pictureque Whetstone Mountains - on 45 minutes southeast of Tucson. Take I-10 Exit 297 south onto J-6 Ranch Road and follow the signs. ONLY PARTICIPANTS ARE ALLOWED IN THE STAGING AREAS AND AT THE START/FINISH LINES. PREMIER PARKING nearest the staging area is reserved for vehicles with multiple participants residing in the same household or those needing Handicap services. Shoulder Parking is allowed in designated areas and overflow parking is available at the Lutheran Church within easy walking to the staging area at the J-6 Community Bible Church. A Neighborhood Traffic Plan is implemented from 6:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. to better protect participants at the event. Family and friends are limited to two viewing areas at Clark Road or Deer Run which can be accessed via neighborhood streets outside of the managed area (Kachina or Williams Road).
MASKS - Masks must be worn at ALL times when in the staging areas and the start/finish line (see Race Rules below).
WAVE STARTS - both the 5k and 10k will start in waves of 10 or fewer runners, each wave departing 1 minute apart. Waves will be emailed to participants mid-week of the race and included in the Participant Pack that can be picked up as early as 6:30 a.m. on Race Day. Wave starts will be by bib number assigned in order of registration. Walkers and jogging strollers will start in the back of the pack for the 5k.
RACE RULES - to limit contact, both races will start in seeded waves
> All participants whether being ambulatory, riding in sports chair, or stroller must be registered.
> After picking up Participant Pack that includes bib with timed-chipped tag, please stay near or around your vehicle until at least 10 min. before wave start. If waiting in grass perimeter area, wear mask and social distance.
> P.A. will call up each group. Stay spaced!
> You MUST wear a mask at line-up. It can be removed after crossing the start line.
> The mask must be put back on before crossing the finish-line and entering the staging areas.
> No spitting or nose blowing without tissues anywhere at the event.
> During the race you must keep at least 10 feet between you and the runner in front of you. When passing, please pass at least six feet to the left and let the other runner know that you are passing.
DESIGNATED RACE LANE - Runners both coming and going will be restricted to the west lane of J-6 Ranch Road. The other lane is used by pilot car to assist local property owners with access and egress. When starting, keep the shoulder of the road at your right shoulder. When finishing, keep the center line at your right shoulder. DO NOT RUN OR CROSS INTO THE LANE THAT IS FOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC ONLY! YOU CAN BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED IF REPORTED BY COURSE MONITORS.
WATER STATIONS, PORTA POTTIES, FIRST AIDE - Please carry your own water since unmanned water stations will have limited supplies of 8 oz. water bottles. The station located at Oxbow approximately 1.7k into the upgrade will be accessible in both directions for the 5k participants and three times by 10k runners. Station 2 for 10k use is located just before the dirt path meets pavement at Conway.
Porta Potties and hand washing station at staging area. Hand sanitizer dispensers at all tents.
First Aide/Assistance - Mobile unit stationed at Oxbow/J-6 Ranch Road accessed by contacting any volunteer at any intersection. Stationary unit at main staging area.
POST-RACE - When your race is finished, pick up your snack-to-go bag, water, and don't forget to check the Raffle Board as you head to the staging area to pick up any awards, or to your car to head home. With health and safety being a major concern, this year' event is about the run and not much else. Thank you for helping us keep in-person running events on the calendar.
