This professionally supervised five month program is designed to safely guide folks of all abilities to their individual Ten Miler running goals. The program will begin on October 27, 2018. The date of the 2018 race will be announced by the end of 2019

The group will be broken into 6 different program levels based on each person's individual current training regimen. First time or out-of-shape folks are especially encouraged to join us for the 28th edition of this popular training program (over 5,000 have participated in this program over the years). Read reviews from past participants!

The overall goal of the program is to guide each individual to a safe and successful completion of the area's oldest footrace and to make exercise a permanent part of each participant's lifestyle!

The program includes:

  • Comprehensive 22-week program with daily training schedule for all levels and abilities
  • Saturday morning group long runs in various pace groups led by friendly C10TP Captains who will keep you motivated to train through the cold winter!
  • Weekly email newsletter with a message from your coach, tips on training, program updates, and other useful information
  • Optional track sessions
  • Social networking opportunities and events

WHEN: The Training Program will meet as a group every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. beginning October 27, 2018 for a quick lecture, tips, and a group run. Attendance at these weekly group runs is optional.

WHERE: U-HALL PARKING LOT near UVA's Lannigan Track, 300 Massie Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903

COST: $20 for nonmembers and $15 for CTC members (Wow, what a bargain!)

Minimum age for participation is 16.

PLEASE NOTE: Registering for the training program DOES NOT automatically register you to run the race. You will need to register for the race separately.

COACH: Mark Lorenzoni has served as volunteer coach since the program started. He is assisted by a team of seasoned “Captains” who will oversee much of the training.
