Description
The fifth annual Kids Adventure Challenge (KAC) presented by Gazelle Sports and RunGR will take place August 18 at 6 p.m. at Grand Rapids’ Johnson Park. All event proceeds will benefit GR8 Sports, Great Kids, a program that helps ensure access K-8 students of the Grand Rapids Public Schools to play sports regardless of ability to pay. Most school districts don’t provide elementary programs at all and require that students “pay to play” at any level. For Grand Rapids Public Schools, this is simply not a realistic option. Engaging kids in sports early promotes a healthy lifestyle and reduces injuries.
This year we are so excited to announce our partnership with RunGR. RunGR is proud to help a new generation of runners be out and active in the community through the Kids Adventure Challenge. This partnership provides RunGR and its members the opportunity to participate in an event with their family, while giving back to the community.
Join us on August 18th to raise money for this worthy cause. This event is fun for all ages, kids and adults will have to work together as a team to complete this event.
Registration is limited to the first 500 participants. Registration will close Sunday, August 14th.
This 2-hour adventure race will include multiple challenges and checkpoints geared for kids age 5-12. Your team will navigate throughout Johnson Park and will have to work together to complete this event. To help each team will receive a passport and a map to navigate and keep track of the progress.
With your registration to the Adventure Challenge you will receive:
-A finishers gift
-An entry to the Millennium Park Beach and Splash pad valid August 18-21.
-A tee shirt (ages 16 and under)
Team members must be over the age of 5 and teams must include one adult over the age of 18.

How to Register Your Team
1. Click the blue "Sign Up" button at the top of the page.
2. Enter information for the first registrant. If you have not used Run Sign Up before, you will have to create a new account.
3. Under "Choose Your Event(s)", click the "Kids Adventure Challenge Team" button.
4. Click the left blue button to join an existing team, or click the right blue button to create a new team. DO NOT JOIN ANOTHER PERSON'S TEAM UNLESS YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO DO SO.
5. If you are creating a new team, click the "Team Type" drop down on the left and select the number of people on your team.
6. On the right, type in your team name. Be creative! There will be a special prize to the team with the most creative team name! Click "Continue."
7. Add your other team member(s) to your team by clicking the "Add Another Registrant" button and completing their information.
8. Acknowledge that you have read and agree to the waiver by checking the waiver box. Click "Continue."
9. Complete the medical/emergency questions for each participant.
10. Select the shirt size for every team member that is 16 and under.
11. Review your information to make sure everything is correct.
12. Enter your credit card information. Click "Confirm" at the end.
13. You will receive a confirmation in your email. If you have any questions, please email the race director at jschultheiss@gazellesports.com
14. If you need to edit any of your information, log into your Run Sign Up account.
