The Inaugural Myakka River Half Marathon will be run in the Myakka River State Park on November 21, 2015. This Virtual race is being held to give everyone that can't make it to the race in November but still wants to help fund the research to find a cure for Alzheimer's. We are raising money for the Alzheimer's assosoation of Sarasota. Every Virual runner will recieve the same finishers medal and the same New Balance running shirt as the live race participants. You can Run your Half Marathon any where at anytime. Post your time on the Myakka River Half Marathon Page on Facebook. You are helping find a cure for this aweful disease! Run for the Memories!
At BlingRunners we are very passionate about helping to find a cure for this atrocious disease. On April 1, 2015 Kimberly Hussey, the Co-Owner of BlingRunners LLC, lost her mother to Alzheimer's. She was only 68 years old. With your entry fee or donation you will be helping fund the research to find a cure. The Alzheimer's Association truly feels that they are within 10 years of finding a cure. Run this race in memory of someone you love that is fighting this disease now or a loved one who lost their battle to this disease. We are hosting the event in loving memory of Kim's mom, Charlene Corniel.
