Naked Mountain Triathlon

This race is located in the Heart of the Uwahrrie Mountain Range at Morrow Mountain State Park, Albemarle NC.  

The course is 14.1 miles long and consists of a 2.5 mile paddle on the Yadkin River, a 7.5 Mile road bike course to summitt Morrow Mountain, and a 4.1 mile trail run on our most popular hiking trail (Fall Mountain Trail), including a creek crossing and some switch backs.  

Race participants can sign up as a 3 man relay or individual.  Each participant receives free camping for race weekend, race day tshirt, post race food, coke in a glass bottle upon finishing the race, free bike tune up by REI bike tech, and prizes to the top finishers.  Top prize includes $100 cash for the fastest individual and the fastest team.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in teams and individual also receive race day Nalgene bottle and knapped arrowhead.  We will also do a drawing to give away some Immersion Research guide shorts and a 3 month golds gym membership.  

This event is the first annual and is meant to raise funds to purchase kayaks for park programing.  We will also have an Astral Blue Jacket ($225 life jacket from our Ashevile North Carolina based company) up for raffle and will draw a winner at the end of the summer.
