Description

For the past six years, Zonta Club of Defiance has helped raise funds so the women throughout northwest Ohio could receive screening mammograms. Since 2008, we’ve been able to raise more than $70,000 for the discounted mammogram program at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital. These sponsorships help women with no insurance receive discounted screening mammograms and encourage early detection habits.

For our first 6 years we have been pleased to partner with Defiance Regional Hospital to sponsor the Fountain to Fountain 5K Race. This year we have decided to change things up and allow more participants to be a part of this incredible event. We will be hosting our first ever Color Fun Run – a non-competitive run/walk event where participants of all ages and abilities are coated with brightly colored powder throughout the course. Not only will this be a fun, family-friendly event, it will allow more community members to join the fight for better access to women’s health. That is our dream and that is why we are calling this year’s event the Fountain to Fountain Dream in Color Fun Run.

The Zonta Club of Defiance is a service organization comprised of business professionals working together to promote the status of women. As a not-for-profit health care provider, Defiance Regional Hospital is committed to serving every person who walks into the facility, regardless of their ability to pay. Together with Defiance Regional Hospital, we are committed to improving women’s health in Northwest Ohio.

Because of the generous donations from our past sponsors, more than 350 women have received screening mammograms through this program since its introduction to the community in 2007.
