Every day, our first responders walk the line between chaos and calm\u2014between saving lives and losing parts of themselves in the process. They run toward danger, stand firm in crisis, and carry burdens few can see.\u00a0But when the sirens go silent, who stands for them?<\/p>\n
Walk the Line is a 24-hour endurance walk dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of first responders. It\u2019s not a race\u2014it\u2019s a symbol. A steady, continuous act of solidarity that reflects the weight they carry long after their shift ends.<\/p>\n
For 24 hours straight, we walk to:<\/p>\n
Honor the silent struggles of police officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and other frontline heroes.
Raise awareness about PTSD, burnout, and the stigma that keeps too many from getting help.
Fund mental health programs, crisis intervention, and peer support networks tailored for first responders.<\/p>\n
This event offers a 24 hour Individual, 24 hour Team (6 person max), 12 hour individual, 6 hour individual, and 3 hour Individual race.\u00a0 Participants with the most laps completed in their category will take home the Prize!\u00a0<\/p>\n
Camping is included for the 24 and 12 hour participants. Campers may arrive on May 14th at 7pm for early registration and camp setup. Camp Set up will be unavailable after 9pm on the 14th but will be available from 6am to 8am on the 15th.\u00a0 Group camp will accommodate up to 200 persons and will be available on a first come first serve basis.\u00a0 So come Early!<\/p>\n
Campers will be able to drop off camping supplies at the Park Rd. Groups Camp Entrance.\u00a0 Vehicle parking will be limited at the Group Camp area and the Cliff overlook Parking lot will be available for overflow parking.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cliffs of the Neuse facilities will be available during the event and are found throughout the park.\u00a0 It is encouraged that you bring your own toiletries!<\/p>\n
Aid Stations and food vendors will be available during the entirety of the event, but 24 and 12 Hour race participants should take into consideration their own personal needs and come prepared with extra rehab.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Safety is important! So, Head lamps and reflective vest are required for night time Walk\/Runners. Trail course is 4 miles long and will be marked with pink flags.\u00a0 DO NOT remove Flags or step off course in an unfamiliar area.\u00a0 Remember this is a state park... you are out in the wild... there are wild animals.\u00a0 Do not hug, kiss, pet, squeeze, or feed the wild animals.\u00a0 First responders will be available but in case of emergency please dial 911.\u00a0<\/p>\n
