Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the pancreas stops producing insulin. Diet and lifestyle choices do not affect the onset of Type 1. Currently there is no prevention or cure. To learn more about Type 1, symptoms, and the research JDRF is funding, please go to www.jdrf.org.
