The second annual Wolfpack Regional Pentathlon is an officially-sanctioned USA Pentathlon Multisport (USAPM) event that is suitable for people of all ages, genders, and abilities. No previous experience is needed.
Participants can choose to compete in as many or as few of the Modern Pentathlon disciplines as they wish. These disciplines include swimming, fencing, equestrian (show jumping), and laser-run (running and laser pistol shooting). For more information, see https://www.wolfpackpentathlon.com/
Note: For those who do not have any riding experience (or not enough riding experience to compete in the show jumping), there will be a limited (while supplies last) option to take a beginner or evaluation lesson during the show jumping. Important: There are only 10 total riding spots available.
Certificates will be awarded to the male and female winners in each age group for both Modern Pentathlon (swim, fence, ride, run, and shoot) and Modern Tetrathlon (swim, fence, run, and shoot). Age groups include U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U19, Juniors (19-20), Seniors (21+), and Masters 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, and 70+. Additionally, ribbons will be awarded to the winners of each age group in each of the individual Modern Pentathlon events.
The swimming, fencing, and laser-run events will be held at Palo Alto High School in Palo Alto, CA (pending permit approval). The riding (show jumping) event will be held at Isola Riding Academy in Portola Valley, CA.
Participants will gain valuable experience for the USA Modern Pentathlon National Championships, which will be held in August, 2022 (location and exact date TBD).
IMPORTANT: All California State and Santa Clara County Covid-19 guidance pertaining to youth and adult athletics will be implemented. More information will be provided to registered participants before the event.
