The Mission of the Spartan Fund
The Spartan Fund is the fundraising arm of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Michigan State University.  We aim to engage and serve individuals within our community by aligning their philanthropic interests with strategic initiatives in order to create opportunities in the classroom, in competition, and in the community for nearly 800 MSU student-athletes in 25 varsity sports.

Michigan State Athletics is entirely self-sustaining and receives no support from Michigan State University’s general fund.  This reality creates a significant need for private contributions.  Our reliance on private support increases each year as the cost of education and the resources necessary to maintain a quality athletics department escalate.
