Description
Come join us for the first annual Fighting For A Cure 5K! Cystic Fibrosis or CF is a rare, genetic, Life-shorting disease that affects every organ in the body and makes breathing difficult. Because of how rare it is there is no government funding for research to cure this life-threatening genetic disease that affects more than 30,000 children and adults in the United States.Sixty years ago, most children most children with CF did not live long enough to attend elementary school, but thanks to foundation-based research and care, the median survival age of people with CF is now into the 40's. Please help us fight by signing up to run or be apart of our first ever 5K. We will run through the beautiful and challenging south highlands neighborhood on October 13th @ 5:00 pm starting over by Ono's on Fern Ave.

Packet Pick Up
Packet Pick Up will be held at Run Wild (9462 Ellerbe Rd) on Thursday October 10th noon till 6:00; also, Friday October 11th and Saturday October 12th 10:00 am till 6:00 pm. Additionally packets can be picked up at the race site starting at 4:00 pm on race day.
Awards
Awards will include gift cards for the overall male and female, as well as gift cards for first place in following age groups:
19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

The Shreveport-Bossier Finest Fundraiser, held on Thursday, October 24th at 601 Spring Street, will be honoring our area's finest professionals, who show exemplary leadership, are active in their community, and have excelled in their profession or business. Throughout the evening our guests will enjoy a dinner, live entertainment, and fabulous auction items.
