2020 Running for Kling Event Cancelled
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to make a tough decision to cancel the 8th annual Running for Kling 5K Run/2K Walk. A full refund will be issued to all registrants.
At this time, the event will be cancelled with no plans to run the event later in the year.

Description
Tracy Kling LaManna, a Downingtown High School and West Chester University graduate, despite never having been a smoker, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer while pregnant with her second child. Tracy fought hard against the disease and throughout it all she always maintained her strength and determination. Sadly, Tracy passed away on Oct. 7, 2013 at the young age of 33. We will never forget her drive, perseverance and willingness to fight! Please help us honor her memory and continue her fight against cancer by joining our 8th annual Running for Kling 5k Race on Friday, May 15th at 7pm in Downtown West Chester, PA.
Immediately following the race (8pm-10pm), the fun continues at Barnab'ys where there will be an all-inclusive Beef and Beer with lots of awesome raffle prizes as well as a 50/50 drawing! When registering for the run or walk, you will have an option towards the end of your registration asking if you'd like to add the Beef and Beer event ticket to your order for an additional cost.
All proceeds from this event go to the University of Penn Lung Cancer Research Center (where Tracy received her exceptional treatment), as well as towards benefiting the Tracy Kling LaManna West Chester University Women's Basketball Scholarship.
All runners/walkers registered prior to April 15th will receive a commemorative 2020 Running For Kling 5K t-shirt! You MUST register before April 15th in order to guarantee a t-shirt.
DAY-OF REGISTRATION: You are able to register on the day of the event for $30. Day-of registration begins at 5:30pm and ends at 6:30pm. Cash payments are preferred, PayPal and Venmo options will be available (no credit cards). Unfortunately same-day registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Weather Cancellation Policy
Participants safety is the most important thing and if any of the threatening weather conditions listed below are present the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled. When weather conditions or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, The Running for Kling officials maintain the right to cancel the event. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or the post event festival to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. Such conditions fall under the label “Acts of God,” and will not result in refunding of any race entry fees or future event credits.
Threatening Weather Conditions
Running for Kling 5K Run/2K Walk may be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, “Heavy” Rain, other major weather condition.
Start of the Race / Cancellation of the Event
The start of the event may be delayed thirty (30) minutes from the posted start time if any of the above mentioned conditions exist. The event may then be canceled if any of the weather conditions persist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch or Thunderstorm.
Authority to Cancel the Event
The Race Director, in accordance with the city and the local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for race day. In the event of cancellation, all participants will receive an email with information on how they can still receive their Participant Race Kit.
