Direct participants to follow the course, cheer on participants. Ensure the safety of participants by connecting with the course leader or emergency personnel if a participant is in need of medical attention.

Cleanup

Details

10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Put away tables, tents, chairs, and traffic cones. Clean up trash and dispose in appropriate receptacle.
Drive and/or walk to parts of the course to pick up the traffic cones.

Fun Run

At least 6 more volunteers needed.

Details

7:45-8:45 AM
Direct 1 Mile Fun Run Participants to the starting line.
Cheer on participants during the race and direct the runners and walkers on the course.
Pass out medals at the finish line and write down names of award winners: fastest 3 boys and girls.

~Thursday: packet pick-up at the Princeton Running company. Greet participants and collect fee and forms, or verify online registration. Hand out race bib, pins, and give-away item and check off the participant off the list.

Setup

Details

Friday 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Set out signs, cones, and flags along the course. Unload cases of water. Draw with chalk on the course to indicate the directions. Set up parking signs at parking lots.

Saturday 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Move and open tables, tents, chairs and set up according to the plan. Drive and/or walk to parts of the course to place traffic cones. Draw with chalk on the course to indicate the directions.

Raffle Prize Volunteer

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Complete the raffle drawing during the 5K race, drawing a winner for each prize. After the race, distribute the prizes to the winners when they visit the table. Rather than physical tickets, use a random number generator app corresponding to the numbers on the race bibs.

Food and water

7:00-10:00 AM
Tasks may include the following: pick up bagels from the vendor, arrange the boxes of bagels on the tables, cut bananas in the middle and place in boxes on the table, pick up ice in coolers and arrange water bottles on the ice. Replenish water and pass out food/water to participants.

Photography

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

8:00-10:30 AM.
Take photos of the participants having fun and competing! Capture moments at the registration area, starting line, key areas such as the water station, finish line, and awards ceremony. Photograph groups of participants to be used on social media. Prefer to capture photos in a horizontal orientation if using a phone. Deliver photos to race coordinator after the race.

Parking Attendant

Wave cars into the parking lot and direct them to the spots. After the event, remove the parking signs.
