Join our 6th Annual Run/Walk
Join us on September 28, 2024, for our 6th Annual 5K/1 Mile Walk benefiting the Kansas State School of the Blind! This is a fun event for runners, walkers, and families alike! Participants can choose between the 5k or the 1 Mile Walk all while helping enhance programs for blind and visually impaired youth. Participants will have the opportunity to see the Kansas State School for the Blind campus, enjoy music, food trucks, and improve their 5K time! Awards will be given to overall male and female race winners.
Description
We are hybrid!
In addition to in-person, we will continue to hold a virtual walk/run. We encourage friends and family members from across the state and the country to join this fun family event.
IN-PERSON RUN/WALK: Saturday, September 28, 2024, starting at Kansas School for the Blind. 1100 State Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas.
VIRTUAL RUN/WALK: Complete your run or walk wherever and whenever you want. We will mail the shirt and participant's medal to you unless you come during the packet up. Please register by September 1st if you want your t-shirt by September 28.
Food Trucks

OUR CAUSE
Proceeds from the 2024 KCBAS run/walk will benefit the Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB) and its effort to make its facilities inclusive for the students and families it serves.
This year we hope to surpass last year's goal and continue to grow the event and raise awareness of the programs and services offered by KCBAS and the school.
MAKE YOUR MILES COUNT! Be an individual, team, family, or corporate fundraiser.
When registering, indicate if you want to donate, "elect a fundraiser to donate to a cause," or "elect "Become a Fundraiser" if you would like to set up a new fundraiser.
Medal and T-shirt
Every participant receives a medal and T-shirt! Designs for the 2024 race are below! .
Shirts will be given at packet pick up and medals will be given when you cross the finish line.
Participants registered by September 1 are guaranteed a race t-shirt. Due to production timelines, those who register after September 1 will receive a race medal but t-shirt delivery may be delayed.
Virtual Participants: We will mail the shirt and participant's medal to you unless you come during the packet up. Please register by September 1st if you want your t-shirt by September 28th.

8:55 AM Participants line up. Runners then walkers in order from the start line.

11:00 AM Tear down/5k closes
