Description

Hello participants! Here is some logistical information for the Run/Walk/Roll:

Hope is where…YOU, the givers, are! This is a hybrid walk/run/roll hosted by Ray of Hope International Foundation (www.letsgivehope.org) to benefit our local partner, Inglis. Ray of Hope (ROH) is based in Philadelphia USA & focuses on access to healthcare, education and tech empowerment. ROH has raised more than $350k through various fundraising events (such as dance recitals, dinners, bowling, beauty, and fitness events) to help multiple partners in India and the USA.

Why Host a Hybrid Run/Walk/Roll for Inglis?

Whether you’re taking a break from your tech to get out and move, or you just want to help those with disabilities in your community get access to technology, you can run, walk, or roll to support Inglis and its Assistive Technology Program! Inglis is a local nonprofit on the front lines during the pandemic fighting to keep individuals with disabilities safe and connected to the people and things that matter most.

Ray of Hope has been supporting Inglis' Assistive Technology (AT) program for several years. Our partnership has yielded some excellent results, always aiming to enhance independence for people with disabilities through technology. Not too long ago, we helped outfit their computer labs with eye-gaze technology, a device which enables a person to use eye movements to operate a computer, giving someone with limited mobility control of their technology to independently navigate the web, manage their personal finances, and stay connected with the world.

Ray of Hope is honored to be a leading partner in AT with Inglis, including founding members of their new Innovation Center AT Lab, which extends access to technology for people with disabilities living independently in the community.

How is Inglis’ AT Program Expanding in Philly?

Inglis’ Assistive Tech Solutions are housed within the new Inglis Innovation Center, which supports people with disabilities living in the community to pursue active, healthy and engaged lives through innovative and integrated services.

Inglis’ Assistive Tech Solutions provides assessment, individualized goal setting, education, and other related services and supports for people living in the community with disabilities and other mobility challenges. This service is a part of the Inglis Assistive Tech Program, which is a multi-disciplinary approach to applying assistive technology to enhance independence that also includes 3-D printing and a state-of-the-art research and development lab to test and pilot innovative and emerging technologies.

How will this $8000 make an impact?

  • $4000 will be contributed towards continued investments in the technology solutions as mentioned above
  • $4000 will be dedicated for scholarships to fund 20 - 30 training sessions for eligible people with disabilities

We look forward to having you join us at our run/walk/roll  on Sunday, March 20th - come with your family and friends and participate in any way that you choose, all for a great cause. You can sign up as a participant in-person or virtually.

Thank you!
