WAR Running Series is back for 2023 beginning February 1st 2023 and ending January 31st 2024.
You can sign up anytime in 2023 before the final race.
You must sign up before the race to get points for the race or to be eligible for an Iron Runner Award.
An Iron Runner is one who completes all of the races in the series.
You must complete 8 races in the series to be eligible for placement awards. Age categories will not be smaller than five years based on your age on the last day of the season.
Youth Runners in 1-10 and 11-15 age groups will not be scored in age groups, overall, or team competition in any race greater than 10 miles. Additionally, runners in the 16-20 age group will not be scored in any race greater than 20 miles. WAR does not encourage youth runners to race these longer distances. To receive iron runner credit, youth runners will only need to complete the races in which they are eligible to score.
Early starts are usually to allow enough time to complete a race before the cutoff, not to gain an advantage at a cooler temperature. If you decide to start early, that may be fine for the race, but will automatically drop you below in rankings behind anyone finishing during the normal start time. You will still get points.
Virtual Races are not eligible for any races in the WAR Running Series.
