Group rides take place starting in late April and go until early September (usually around Tax Day to Labor Day). We ride every Thursday (weather permitting) and encourage members to post additional rides to the Listserv or the Facebook Group. We are a stronger club by training together! Have a weekly ride you would like to add to this page as part of a CMC training ride? Email membership@columbiamultisport.com to see if your ride can be added.
Thursday Ride:
Meet at Bur Oak Brewing Co. off of Tradewinds Parkway (park on the street)
Wheels down for all groups: 5:45 p.m.
Out and back as fast and as far as you want to go! Stay after for socializing.
Definition of Riding Groups:
Racing Group – You know who you are!
Usually two speeds for this group. Fast and let’s break the sound barrier fast! (17 mph+)
Fast but Fun Group – Fast but not too fast
We like to chase the racers but don’t mind when they pull ahead
This group is about having fun and challenging ourselves
Seasoned Nibblers or seasoned riders who are ready for the next level of fitness and speed
Travels 15-17 mph average depending on the route (could be less on a really hilly route)
Takes care of each other – not necessarily a no-drop ride but leaders always emerge from the group at each ride
Social / Beginners Group
Beginners learning the rules of the road and getting comfortable
Road bikes, hybrids and even a few mountain bikes in this group
Many new Columbia Multisport Club members have come out of this group to do amazing things
Speed varies greatly 10 -14 mph average (speed increases as season progresses)
NO DROP RIDES – we make every effort for this rides to be no drop when a leader and a sweeper are available. In general, this group is amazing at taking care of it’s own and making sure no one is left behind.
