The Spirits Run Illinois Adventure Series is a statewide collection of story‑driven 5Ks that celebrate the places, people, and legends that make Illinois unforgettable. Each event blends local history, community spirit, and a touch of gothic charm — from small‑town taverns and river trails to historic cemeteries and iconic landmarks.

A big part of our journey is exploring as much of Illinois as we can — discovering new towns, meeting local characters, and experiencing the state one community at a time. Along the way, we hope to visit all 102 counties to enjoy Illinois, discover Illinois, and run Illinois one 5K at a time.

We partner with local businesses, honor local heroes, and design routes that highlight the character of each community — whether it’s a quiet neighborhood loop, a scenic trail, or a run that brushes up against the past. Walkers, runners, families, and first‑timers are always welcome.
