Code of Conduct

Team Mossman Triathlon Club (TMTC) is committed to providing opportunities for its

members to develop skills, knowledge and the values necessary to become a capable,

involved person in the triathlon community. 

Members of the TMTC and participants in all TMTCs workouts and events including activities and club training camps, are expected to conduct themselves at all times in a manner consistent with the values of TMTC. Conduct that violates these values may/ will result in the member having their membership revoked. No correspondence will be entered into.

All TMTC members have a responsibility to:

1. Maintain and enhance the dignity and self-esteem of members and participants of

TMTC by:

a. Demonstrating respect to individuals regardless of gender, ethnic or racial

origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, religion, political belief,

disability or economic status.

b. Focusing comments of criticism appropriately and avoiding public

criticism of athletes, coaches, officials, organizers and volunteers.

c. Consistently demonstrating the spirit of sportsmanship, sports leadership

and ethical conduct.

d. Ensuring that the rules of the sport of triathlon and the spirit of such rules

are adhered to.

2. Refrain from any behavior that constitutes harassment or bullying.

Defined as comment or conduct, directed towards an individual or group, which is

offensive, abusive, racist, and sexist, or in any way degrading or malicious.

3. Refrain from any behavior that constitute sexual harassment,

Defined as unwelcome sexual advances or conduct of a sexual nature when

submitting to or rejecting this conduct influences decisions which affect the

individual, such conduct has the purpose or effect of diminishing performance or

such conduct creates and intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.

3. When participating in club workouts, each member must follow the club

practice as outline by the discipline Lead.

4. Parents of minor athletes are responsible to inform the coaches of any life

issues/ decisions that their child is making that will effect their training development

In addition to the above, Coaches and Committee Members of TMTC have a

responsibility to:

5. Ensure a safe environment by selecting activities and establishing controls that are

suitable for the age, experience, ability and fitness lever of athletes;

6. Educate athletes about the dangers of drugs and performance-enhancing

Substances.

7. Communicate and cooperate with the parents/guardians of athletes who are

minors and involve them in decisions pertaining to their childs development.

8. Use a holistic coaching approach to help all athletes achieve their goals.

I shall adhere to the Code of Conduct of Team Mossman Triathlon Club.

Waiver

TEAM MOSSMAN TRIATHLON CLUB WAIVER, RELEASE and INDEMNIFICATION FORM (WRIF). PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE AGREEING TO THIS WAIVER, RELEASE and INDEMNIFICATION FORM.

I acknowledge that TEAM MOSSMAN TRIATHLON CLUB (the "CLUB") is a club that participates in activities that are an extreme test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss to Members. I HEREBY ASSUME THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN CLUB ACTIVITIES. I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for participation in CLUB activities, and am capable of participating in any CLUB activities. I have not been advised not to participate in the CLUB by a qualified health professional. I acknowledge that my statements on this WRIF are being accepted and relied upon by the various directors, organizers, sponsors and administrators in permitting me to participate in any of the CLUB activities.

In consideration for allowing me to participate in the CLUB, I hereby take the following action for executors, my administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, assigns and myself: 

a) I AGREE to abide by the Code of Conduct adopted by the CLUB, as they may be amended from time to time, and I acknowledge that participation in any CLUB activities may be revoked or suspended for violation of the CLUBs Code of Conduct. 

b) I WAIVER, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all claims or liabilities for death, personal injury, property damage, theft or damages of any kind, which arise out of or relate to my participation in, or my traveling to and from the CLUB activities.

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS OR ENTITIES: Team Mossman Triathlon Club, Team Mossman Events, Multisports Academy., CLUB sponsors, CLUB officers, EVENT producers, volunteers, all venues, cities, counties or localities in which the CLUB or individual Members of the CLUB or EVENTs and activities are held, and the officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents of any of the above. 

c) I AGREE NOT TO SUE any of the persons or entities mentioned above for any of the claims or liabilities that I have waived released or discharged herein.

d) I INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the persons or entities mentioned above from any claims made or liabilities assessed against them as a result of my actions as a Member of the CLUB. I hereby agree to abide by the Code of Conduct. The CLUB reserves the right to refuse Membership to Team Mossman Triathlon Club to anyone. If your registration is refused, you will be refunded in full, including administration fee. No correspondence will be entered into.

 e) I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, video tapes, recordings or any other record of CLUB and EVENT activities for any purpose including commercial use.
