Island Running, Manhattan to Montauk, Run/Walk/Hike Peconic Trails
The East End Road and Trail Runners Club was founded in 1994 to promote running on the east end, but also as an environmental advocate as well as health and fitness. We are getting back to basics with Peconic Road and Trail.
Island Running/Peconic Trails is a road and trail running walking and hiking club serving all of Long Island and promotes and encourages running as a competitive sport, and it improves fitness and health by supporting running and jogging and hiking. In furtherance of our purpose, the Club promotes and conducts races, hosts group runs, fun runs, training runs, hikes and programs on the road, track and trail and hosts running events, education lectures about topics of interest for runners and hikers, provides awards for club members, hosts social events for members, and all such other things as may be conducive to the encouragement of running, walking and hiking. The Club also engages in community activities, to publicize by appropriate means, the benefits of running, walking and hiking as a means of physical fitness to improve the health status of people in our community as well as the health of our environment.
Peconic Trails Preservation has taken on the task of creating, protecting and maintaining Long Island's East End Trails for non motorized use. You can now join as a Peconic Trails Member. Member funds will go directly into our Trails budget. You will receive our Peconic Trails Newsletter with news on hikes and runs and how you can help protecting and managing our trails.
Thank you for supporting Island Running, Walking and Hiking and Peconic Trails
Founded originally as The East End Road & Trail Runners Club (EER&TRC) The club was started in Southampton to inform East End Runners about races via a mailed newsletter sent to members and is a chapter of the Road Runners Club of America. With the invention of the internet we have expanded in many directions and have morphed into what is now known as Island Running and Peconic Trails Preservation for runners, walkers and hikers. We will rejoin the Road Runners Club as Peconic Road and Trail and will organize run/walks to fund Trail Preservation.

Healthy bodies require clean air and water, so we take a strong interest in the environment as we work with and support local environmental groups.
We encourage all our members to support all local running, hiking, fitness, trail and environmental clubs and shop at local specialty outdoor stores.

Family members must live in the same household. We encourage families to run or hike together and support each other. All family members are encouraged to join with one small fee.
Join as an Peconic Trails Member. Open to all hikers and trail runners. Your membership fees will go into a special fund devoted to Long Island Trail Preservation and management and in creating new trails. Our newsletter will keep you updated on trail projects, hikes and runs.
We have big plans for Peconic Trails. Support health and fitness, runners and hikers and our local trails and our environment.
We need your support. We are setting up a new corporation to work for our trails, our environment and our health locally and regionally. We need to raise funds for organizational expenses to incorporate and insure the organization so that we can organize races, trail maintenance and the creation of new trails and signage.
Supporters help us pay our many organizational expenses including trail maintenance, insurance, and event management.
We have several Sponsor Packages for businesses.
Sponsors can advertise their business on our club websites.
There will be additional levels of sponsorship available for events.
