The Steamtown Marathon Training program is designed to PROGRESSIVELY build longer distances, and paces range from 8:00 min mile thru 13:00 min mile.
The training runs include speed workouts and tempo runs structured to improve overall speed, endurance, and strength while running.
In order to join the Intermediate Program, you MUST CURRENTLY BE ABLE TO RUN 10 MILES WITHOUT ANY WALKING WHILE EASILY MAINTAINING A 13:00 MIN MILE. This is for safety reasons since we will be running through the streets of Scranton. If you can't yet run 10 miles while EASILY maintaining that pace, we suggest you join the Beginner 5K or Intermediate Training Program so that you can build your stamina at a slightly faster pace.
• Beginning Date: Tuesday, June 13th
• Last Training Day: Thursday, October 5th
• Optional Goal Race: Steamtown Marathon - 26.2 Miles, Sunday October 8th
Please note that SRC Steamtown Marathon Training Program registration does NOT include registration for the goal race or any other race. Workouts are uncoached with participants running at their own pace with others that are also training at the same pace.

Registered participants will receive 15% off of all regular priced Scranton Running Company merchandise. (Discount cannot be used on previous purchases and dates are non-transferable. Reward points will accumulate but cannot be with the discount)

Location:
All groups will meet at the Scranton Running Company (SRC), but other meeting locations may be announced throughout the session. Location changes will be announced at practice and via the email that you are registering with.
