About Us
Prairie State Road Runners (PSRR) is a 501(c)(3) organization and a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) organization in Will County that promotes participation and competition at the amateur level in a variety of running events. The club was founded in 1975 in Joliet in Will County, Illinois, and is one of the oldest in Illinois.
The club is governed by its written Bylaws and by a Board of Directors made up of its members. Members of the Board of Directors are elected annually at the annual business meeting. The club charges an annual fee for membership for individuals, groups, and students.
Each year, Prairie State Road Runners (PSRR) organizes a Race Circuit for our members. Participation in these races gives you club points, and the points are calculated at the end of the year for prizes and PSRR swag.
Our Mission
Our commitment extends beyond the roads and trails as we aim to make a positive impact on the well-being of our members and the local community. Through organized runs, events, and community initiatives, we aim to promote physical fitness and a sense of belonging.
Prairie State Road Runners organizes three community-based running events - the Manhattan Irish Fest Parade 5k (March), the PSRR Free 5k Charity Race (August), and the Poultry and Pie Predictor 4 mile (November).
