Join us for our May Social and take a tour along the Waccamaw River! Our tour will be led by former GSRC President and co-founder of the BFF Pink Ribbon Run, Captain Rick Lanigan! Boat capacity is limited to 46 passengers but your family is invited to come for a picnic and social afterwards! Bring your own food and blanket/chairs for the picnic! There is plenty of parking and those not going on the tour can hang out until we return!

With Waccamaw River Tours, you will explore by boat the beautiful cypress lined Waccamaw River, Intracoastal Waterway and its creeks/swamp; in search of birds, and other wildlife that inhabit these southern waters along the untouched National Wildlife Refuge. The majesty of the moss lined river is breathtaking and the peacefulness of this natural area is appealing to all. Large osprey nest can be seen along the river. You also may see heron, egrets, cormorants, ducks, turtles and alligators. You’ll be greeted by roaming peacocks and gaze upon exotic animals such as buffalo, zebra, fallow deer, emus, and sheep on the drive to & from our docks at the back of the Waccatee Zoo. Waccamaw River Tours is a separate business from the Zoo. Parking is free. Learn about the history of this river and surrounding areas. It is a historic and educational exploration of nature for all ages. The beauty of this river is a medicine that soothes the heart and heals the soul.
