ABOUT US:

Formed in 1984, the Bayou City Road Runners (BCRR) is a a unique and distinctive running club in Houston. Many club members are "serious" runners, some do it to control weight, some do it for fitness, some for the challenge, but one very common theme among BCRR members is "let's have fun". To be a member, you don't have to be fast, you don't have to run long distances, in fact you don't even have to run, you just have to think that it's a good idea.  And one other thing, you have to like purple, because that's the team color.

BCRR is a non-profit 501 C(3) organization (EIN: 76-0447975) and is a member club of the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA)  and the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA)

We proudly present Alex's 5K, benefiting autism charity, in November and the Bayou Bash Relay (a HARRA Spring Series Race) in April. We also support other races and runners in the community.
