WHAT IS GIRLS ON THE RUN?
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a youth development after school program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. The program is dedicated to inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy and confident while creatively integrating running or movement. Each season concludes with a celebratory 5K run!
JOIN US:
Every Girls on the Run 5K highlights the excitement of completing a season and the start of what’s next. Join us on 5K day as girls in Frederick County reflect on how far they’ve come and step into their next chapter with confidence.
The 2026 'Celebrate Your Start' 5K is a celebration and recognition of girls’ hard-earned progress and limitless possibilities. Their journeys remind us: every achievement begins with one brave decision to start.
2026 COURSE MAP
POST 5K PANCAKE BREAKFAST CELEBRATION:
Join us for our first ever post 5K breakfast celebration! Inspired by a Hood College tradition, the pancake breakfast will be just what you and your girl need to refuel after crossing the finish line. Menu: Pancake breakfast with breakfast meats, fruit, water and juices.
Current Girls on the Run program participants do not need to purchase a ticket for the breakfast.
PARKING:
There is NO parking on Hood College Campus. Parking available at Frederick Health Garage, top floor.

*GOTR participants should plan to arrive no later than 8:00am to allow time to check in with their coach/team and receive their bib.*

Medals & Awards
All participants timed and untimed will receive a Girls on the Run finisher medal (displayed below).
Timed participants will be eligible for post race awards.
