Information
The Santa Clarita Runners (SCRs) is a non-profit running organization that welcomes all people of any ability level to engage in fitness while developing lifetime friendships. Our community-oriented running club is dedicated to promoting health, fitness, and sportsmanship among Santa Clarita Valley residents.
What we all share is a love for running. Whatever your distance, we have runners that enjoy it, from the pure speed of track sprints, to 5 and 10ks, half and full marathons, even ultras.
Our club offers 4 different weekly workouts, including our Tuesday track workout (sometimes virtual), the 4-6 mile Thursday tempo/social fun run, our Saturday 10-mile ‘LoweBucks’ run (with shorter and longer options available), and the Sunday marathon training--where shorter distances are also available. Additionally, we periodically have fun runs taking advantage of our numerous local trails, our favorite holidays and our love for unique challenges.
Second only to our love for running is our love to spend time with others who love running. After our weekend morning workouts you’ll usually see a large group stay for coffee and after our evening workouts we often gather for dinner or just a beer. Two of our largest club events are our annual banquet and our summer social, both seem to get bigger and better each year.
We also believe in giving back to our community. Our annual public events often benefit local charities. Our largest and oldest annual event, the Independence Day Classic, benefits the cross-country teams of the local Santa Clarita Valley High Schools and other nonprofit organizations. Other events have benefited pediatric cancer organizations and the local food pantry. We also provide event and finish line support to local charity races.
We look forward to running with you soon.
