What is offered in the program? 

This program is for individuals of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned triathletes, who want to achieve their triathlon goals or train with consistent team support. Training is available for all distances, including Sprint, Olympic, Half, and Full Ironman triathlons. Members are supported regardless of pace or ability, with a focus on personal goals and camaraderie.

How often does the Team get together to train, and where? 

Our typical training week is:

  • Tuesday: Bike training with a coach (location varies based on objectives).
  • Wednesday: Speed and hill running workouts with a coach (locations across Lansing)
  • Thursday: Pool training in spring and open-water swimming in summer (weather permitting).
  • Saturday: Long runs with Team Playmakers (various locations and distances).

Sessions begin between 6:00–6:15 PM and last about 1.5 hours. Attendance is flexible, and members are encouraged to participate as much as their schedule allows.

How can I get help with my running or walking form?

Playmakers offers free Good Form Running, Good Form Walking, and Good Form Movement classes. Class details are included in the weekly email, or you can register at Good Form at Playmakers

Will I get help with my running or walking form? 

Playmakers offers FREE weekly Good Form Running, Good Form Walking, and Good Form Movement classes. You will receive reminders of the availability of these classes in the weekly email, The Saturday Scoop. For dates, times and to register, go to: playmakers.com, click on “Good Form” and choose your option. You will be directed to Playmakers online event calendar.

How is Team information disbursed? 

  • Weekly emails from the lead coach include training schedules, updates, and event calendars.
  • A private Facebook group offers reminders and updates for team members.

What if I can’t come to every training session? 

While consistent participation is encouraged for the best experience, attendance is flexible. The team welcomes you whenever you can join!

What should I do if I get injured? 

All in the community are welcome to join the Free Playmakers Injury Clinic on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Playmakers. There are a number of different physicians that can provide a quick consult and recommendations of care, and further treatment. 

Do I get any individual coaching?

Coaches are responsive via email and Facebook for questions. You can arrange one-on-one meetings to discuss training adjustments or specific goals.
