As many of you may be aware, Mobbs’ wife of nearly 21 years, Arly passed away a little while ago.
Arly had suffered from a series of illnesses prior to her passing, sadly most of which would have been treatable individually, but very difficult to beat collectively. The major complicating factor with her health was Interstitial Cystitis, or IC.
Arly’s condition was at the worse end of the scale from an IC perspective, even simple things like sitting, walking, anything with much commonplace body-movement - flared the pain. To counter pain, she stopped being active, and as a result, her body wasted. In the last couple of years she also got a cancer diagnosis which was treatable, she probably could have survived this for 10 or 20 years. She additionally suffered pneumonias which could have been treated. But her frail condition meant that she went down under the weight of everything because she was in such a weakened physical state from the IC.
Arly battled her conditions for nearly 15 years before passing away in April this year.
In honour of Arly and in support of our beloved Mobbs, we’re launching a fundraiser in support of IC. We are hoping that this can help other sufferers and potentially look into additional support services and research, so that other sufferers can recover and put the illness behind them.
This fundraiser is also very timely, as September is IC Awareness month, so we’ll be leaving the fundraiser running for a few weeks, and then pass the money on, in memory of Arly - during IC Awareness Month.
