Louis Tudor was a coach, biscuit-man, athlete, and above all, a beloved brother, father, and husband.

In 1985, Louis opened Tudors Biscuit World in Downtown Roanoke, VA. This quickly became a Roanoke staple.  After deciding to close in 2012, Lou shifted his focus to starting the City Swim Barracudas, a swim team designed for inner-city children in Roanoke.  While coaching different swim teams, Lou also gave back to his community by volunteering with clients from the Rescue Mission, who used swim as part of therapy.

In addition to his service as a volunteer swim coach, Louis was also a dedicated husband and father of four. Family was always his first love.  He was most at peace while fishing with his kids or paddle boarding in the ocean.

With the onset of Covid-19, Louis began struggling with declining mental health.  Being shut away from the water, and his former life pre-pandemic, it only made it worse.  Louis lost his battle with mental illness, and took his own life on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

The Tudor Family wants to use this tragedy to shed light on the seriousness of mental illness, and the lack of community resources.  Tudor House will be a place where people in the valley can go to feel safe and get support for grief and loss as well as access to suicide prevention.  This foundation is being started to ensure that no family will have to go through this alone, helping provide navigation during difficult times.
