I invite you to join me and Run the Greenway for Ability Fitness Center, an amazing therapeutic fitness and wellness center that is helping me to reclaim my life following the devasting traumatic brain injury (and skull/spinal/facial fractures, respiratory failure, etc.) that I sustained in January 2021. It's been a journey: 7 months at Atlanta's Shepherd Center for intense in-patient rehab, 3 brain surgeries, and grueling sessions of PT, OT, Speech, and Vision therapies. And, just 18 months ago I was using a wheelchair, had a Trach and PEG (feeding tube), and needed assistance with all the activities of daily living (ADL). Through the grace of God, and with the help of my family and the expert clinicians at Ability Fitness Center, I have improved exponentially. Today, I am significantly more independent and am working hard to get back to carpentry and especially taking care of the home that I built. In fact, through this journey, I've even discovered new passions, like golf! It's amazing that just after 4 sessions with a volunteer-run adaptive golf program, I can now drive a ball 150 yards and on target! Next up on my list: Playing a round of golf and hiking in Colorado!
