It has been an exhilarating first 15 weeks as the new Executive Director of Connecting for Children and Families! What has impressed me the most is the complete commitment to mission from all the staff that I am privileged to call co-workers here at CCF. I see the care, the passion, the hard work, the willingness to do whatever is needed, each and every day in all that we do. Not only is it that we are committed to workforce development, early learning, extending the learning day through out of school time programming, and an array of parent support services, it is the little things that we do through our food pantry, basic needs center, free tax preparation services, and our Success Wear boutique. It is that we worked tirelessly during Covid-19 to meet the basic needs of families and responded when others were unable. Yet, now more than ever our children and families need us. Families are still struggling to overcome the overwhelming obstacles that the pandemic has left behind. We need to evolve as an agency to respond to their needs, we need to collaborate even more intentionally with our community partners, and we need to strengthen our core services to be present, able, and accommodating to the needs of children and families.
