Hello dear family and friends ~
Welcome to my fundraising page!
I can now say I am a 10 year survivor of Multiple Myeloma! This was not a given when I received my diagnosis in 2014 at the age of 44. I feel super grateful for advances in treatments funded by this event that bring my good health, and another opportunity to walk and fundraise along with you for this cause so near to my heart on Sunday, June 30th, 2024. Many of you have been supporters in the past, some may be donating for the first time, some may have been impacted directly by Multiple Myeloma ~ thank you all for your generosity! 100% of all funds raised will go directly to advancing multiple myeloma research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Each donation plays a part in bringing myeloma treatment options to patients faster and helping fund research to find a cure for this cancer. Together, we are building community, supporting survivors, remembering loved ones lost, and funding research that is giving new hope to patients like me. We are committed, we are strong, and our impact can be enormous. I, personally, have found this fundraiser to be one of the most life-affirming, inspirational, practically impactful and helpful ways to channel good will and agency, and I am honored you are taking part and supporting me and so many others.
With deep gratitude and love,
Jen

What is Multiple Myeloma?
Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells found in bone marrow. Normal plasma cells help the immune system fight disease, but when plasma cells become cancerous they grow out of control and can produce a tumor called a plasmacytoma. If someone has more than one plasmacytoma, they have multiple myeloma.
Why support this event?
Defeat Multiple Myeloma’s mission is to raise awareness of multiple myeloma while supporting research that seeks to discover new treatments, improve the quality of life for myeloma patients, and ultimately find a cure for this devastating form of cancer. Funds from the 2023 Defeat Multiple Myeloma event will continue to support immunotherapy research and clinical trials at Fred Hutch which are using CAR-T cells and have shown very promising early results for patients.
