Cancer has touched my life a number of times over. It's claimed my maternal grandfather, an aunt, a young former teacher, and most recently a former coworker and friend who left behind a young family. My mom and other aunts have fought and survived cancer as much as that word can mean, and a number of my generation in the Fox family are known to have inherited a cancer-contributing gene mutation. These multi-faceted connections mean I cannot ignore the fight even while I thankfully have my own health.
This fall, I'll be taking part once again in the annual Road America Walk-Run for the American Cancer Society. I strongly support their mission to research for a cure, support patients and their families, and promote the prevention and detection of new cases. Please join the Fighting Foxes team and me in this fight, so the landscape of cancer may yet change for all our sakes.
