Established in 1988, the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. (PIEF) serves as the fundraising arm of Xi Omega Chapter, the oldest and largest graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Washington, DC. The 501(c)(3) organization's primary mission is to provide scholarships to deserving and exemplary college-bound high school seniors and continuing college students in the District of Columbia. PIEF is comprised of college-educated, professional women – community volunteers who are dedicated to serving the needs of District residents. To date, PIEF has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships.
