Bee Brave 5K

I don't even know where to begin.  Get your mammograms, do your self breast exams, please don't wait to get something checked.  Don't put things off.  Mammograms may be uncomfortable but I can tell you, breast cancer is way more uncomfortable.  I was diagnosed in February of 2024 and it was caught early.  No signs or lumps or family history.  My cancer is not genetically linked.  My body grew two different types of cancer in one of my breast and i would love scientists to find out why.  I am running this race 4 days before my second surgery.  I feel like a lucky person - lucky to have my cancer caught early, lucky to only have to lose one of my breasts, lucky to only have to take hormone therapy for 5 to 10 years.  Lucky to be able to run this race.  So, I'm going to do something that I have never done before and post this fundraiser and see if we can raise some money for local research.  Every dollar will go directly to fund breast cancer research at Van Andel Institute in Grand Rapids, MI.  They will take any amount you'd like to donate.  Thank you!
