THE POVERTY WALK CHALLENGE 4 AFRICA: Would you and your family walk, run, or bike for 5 days (3/28-4/1/2022) in support of K12 students in rural Africa who walk 5 to 10 miles to and from school each day? This challenge is a virtual poverty simulation, personal journey, family fitness event, and fundraising event in which K12 students and their families, college students, and adults will collectively walk, run, or bike at least 10 miles in 5 days, from Monday, March 28- Friday, April 1st, 2022.

You can help me transform the school experience of the elementary and middle school students from the village of Tongon and surrounding villages in the north of Cote d'Ivoire who walk 10 miles to and from school, provide computer laptops and STEM kits to K12 students in Togo, or Afterschool academic enrichment activities to underserved K12 students in Benin.   EVERY DOLLAR YOU DONATE AND FUNDRAISE MAKES A DIFFERENCE!                                                                                                                                                                Your donations and fundraising efforts will help with:

1. Purchasing one (1) school bus to transport hundreds of K12 students from Tongon and surrounding villages in the north of Cote d'Ivoire who currently walk 10 miles each day to and from school: Cost is 15,000              

2. Providing after-school academic enrichment activities and remediation, arts, and lunch to the most academically and economically challenged K12 students in Cotonou, Benin. Our goal is to raise $13,000 to serve hundreds of students in Benin, Africa.

3. Equipping (laptops +Ipads+ STEM kits) and operating GFA's AFRICA STEM CENTER in Tseeviee, Togo. Our goal is to raise $ 10,000 to serve hundreds of K12 students in Togo. 

4. Raising $12,000 towards the construction of the K12 school. This is a long-term project that will serve K12 students from 10 villages in the region of M'Bengue, Cote d'Ivoire, and will be located in the village of Tongon. K12 students in these 10 villages walk 10 miles or more to attend schools that lack basic school supplies, toilets, gender-based toilets, and exclude children with disabilities. We want to build and operate a K12 school that will provide a high-quality education to thousands of students in this impoverished region of Cote d'Ivoire.

We are seeking for and accepting in-kind donations of refurbished/used and working or new computer laptops, desktops, Ipads, STEM kits,  legos, and school buses of any size to transport students to and from school, school supplies, etc. All in-kind and financial donations to GAMES FOR AFRICA are tax-deductible.
